NEW DELHI: Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has been included in a working group to examine a Supreme Court committee verdict that suspended two top Indian Premier League teams on corruption-related charges.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India, which runs the IPL, also announced Monday that the group will include IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla, BCCI officials Anurag Thakur and Anirudh Chaudhary, and legal adviser Usha Nath Banerjee.
The group will submit its report within six weeks.
Former champions Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals were last week suspended for two years each by Justice Rajendra Lodha’s committee. It also announced life bans on Chennai team principal Gurunath Meiyappan and Rajasthan co-owner Raj Kundra for betting on IPL games or being in contact with illegal gamblers.
