KATHMANDU, AUG 07 - Nepali Congress lawmaker Amresh Singh, who was asked to furnish clarification for not attending the feedback collection programme on the draft constitution in his constituency and for making secessionist statement, has furnished his reply on Friday.

In his seven-point clarification letter addressed to NC Chief Whip Chin Kaji Shreshta, lawmaker Singh has said he was taken aback by the party’s decision to seek clarification regarding a non-issue and the party would amend its mistake.
Leader Singh has said the idea of splitting the nation is beyond his imagination and the perspective to lay such charges itself is misguided.”Nation means its people and Madhesi folks too are part of the nation. I only spoke about the sentiments of Madhesi people that are currently being raised,” said Singh. As the national integrity is an issue of extreme importance for us, the demand for protecting the justifiable rights of all the people should be equally important, leader Singh said in his clarification.
“I was present among thousands of people at Gahariya of Sarlahi, my constituency, on July 20 and 21 for feedback collection programme. But the respected lawmakers and officials from Constitution Assembly Secretariat appointed for the place were absent,” he said.
