Aug 19, 2015- Protestors torched a police beat in Bhardaha of Saptari district as soon as the local administration lifted the overnight curfew on Wednesday morning.
The demonstrators also burnt a motorcycle (Sa 4 Pa 7938) after protests began soon after the curfew came to an end at 5 this morning.
Meanwhile, an all-party meeting decided to hold a peaceful funeral procession of Rajiv Rawat who succumbed to the bullet injuries sustained during police firing on Tuesday. Rawat, 24, a resident of Bhardaha-1, died on the spot when he got shot when the police opened fire to disperse the violent crowd during yesterday’s demonstrations. The general administration had clamped curfew from 4 pm to 5 am this morning to contain the situation.
Seven others—Dev Narayan Bishwas, 40, Surendra Mandal, 35, Dipak Sah, 11, Satya Narayan Rawat, 18, Gopal Mandal, 20, Bijay Thakur and Amit Yadav—injured in the shooting are receiving treatment at hospitals in Biratnagar and Dharan.
