KATHMANDU: The government on Tuesday formed a five-member committee to look into the Kailali incident and decided to promote seven security personnel, who lost their lives while on duty, posthumously.

A former chief of National Investigation Department, Deviram Sharma, heads the panel. Members of the high-level panel are two Additional Inspector Generals (AIGs) of Nepal Police –Jeevan Thapa and Pratap Thapa — NID’s Ganesh Adhikari and Joint Secretary at the Home Ministry Binod KC.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Laxman Neupane, two Nepal Police inspectors Balaram Bista and Keshav Bohara, constables Laxman Khadka and Lokendra Chand, two APF head constables Rambihari Chaudhary and Lalit Saud were killed when protesters turned violent at Tikapur yesterday.
A two-year-old body, Tek Bahadur Saud, was also found dead in the area.
